The University of Bolton Manchester campus was officially launched in 2023; spanning 37,000k square feet across two floors, providing an array of spaces for student work, relaxation, and socialisation.
University of Bolton are encouraging their students to come and enjoy their new campus and learn in an inspiring space. There was particular focus on providing excellent amenities accompanied with the latest technology to enhance the student and teacher collaboration experience like never before.
What AVM did
As with all the projects, we don’t ‘jump straight to tech’. We worked closely with the client using collaborative and visually rich documents to structure our ideation sessions. By truly understanding the student and tutor requirements, we developed solutions based around the goal of providing the best teaching and learning environment for this higher education facility.
The technology enriches the vibrant atmosphere within the campus, having breakout spaces with engaging and dynamic content on the multiple digital signage displays. These serve to engage with students and tutors while creating an inclusive community feeling.
At the heart of this project are the lecture theatres and seminar rooms. Ranging from 40 person to 60 person spaces, designed with flexibility in mind, this is true future proofed hybrid teaching. Including interactive displays with whiteboarding features and enabling hybrid teaching via PTZ camera and ceiling microphones and speakers. In person and/or via video conference, this experience will allow you to be at your most productive.
The meeting rooms focus around a very simple user experience, harnessing interaction with members that are not on campus delivering seamless video conferencing and presentation sharing. This ensures those not in the meeting in person, have a great experience.
Overall, since the impact from the pandemic, student and tutor experiences in universities have highlighted the importance of interaction and the need to reignite and empower students and tutors to engage better. This campus delivers this with flexible spaces, cutting-edge, simple to use technology, that will enable students and tutors to truly connect and collaborate.
We also provide support & maintenance across all the audio-visual technology on campus. This will ensure that the teachers spend all their time teaching and not troubleshooting, and the student experience is always focused on knowledge exchange.
