The Challenge
Quiz Clothing is a leading fashion retailer that has seen tremendous growth in recent years from its small beginnings as a single Glasgow store. As of 2018, Quiz have expanded to 300 stores internationally, their online business has enjoyed a 158% increase in revenue over the previous year, and show no signs of slowing down.
Recently, Quiz sought to invest heavily in digital marketing as a means of targeting their predominantly millenial demographic more effectively. Within this was the necessity to embrace technology across their stores, both in terms of reaching new customers with engaging visual advertising and enhancing customer interaction.
To put these ideas into practice, Quiz enlisted AVM to ignite their flagship stores with the latest audiovisual technologies.
The AVM Solution
Audio System
Firstly, Quiz required a system that could deliver the highest quality audio for its customers, but also would be simple to operate by staff. To accomplish this, AVM kitted out stores with flush-mounted Bose FreeSpace speakers and subwoofers, that would ensure maximum clarity of sound for a busy shopping centre environment prone to noise pollution.
Feeding the speakers is a Bose power amplifier and professional-use Denon CD Player, which features additional means of input such as USB, SD Card, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.
All this equipment is neatly housed within the rack and can be conveniently accessed by the staff to power ON/OFF, play store-supplied music and adjust volume with a handy Bose Volume Control Wall Plate.
Six-screen Scatterwall
AVM installed an artistic six-screen, front-facing Scatterwall for Quiz’s Stratford branch, serving as an eye-catching display to showcase the latest seasonal clothing collections. The HD screens are positioned in an unconventional manner, combining landscape and portrait orientations to create a unique canvas that piques curiousity and serves as a bold compliment to Quiz’s focus on occasionwear, but have ultimate impact when used in tandem with their dynamic video content.
The Scatterwall itself is powered by a high-grade BrightSign unit connected to the cloud through the AVM’s network, allowing it to be managed remotely and updated anywhere in the world, once content has been acquired by the digital content creation team as fresh showcase videos are produced (AVM Cloud-Managed services can be supported in-house by ourselves directly, or client-ran after initial training).
A Datapath controller was also deployed to perform the task of segmenting the BrightSign output, positioning and upscaling to fit the non-standard canvas, ensuring that it looks as crisp and vibrant as possible.
Gantry Video Walls and Shopfront Screens
Next, AVM engineers fitted and precisely aligned impactful, high-definition 2X2 gantry Video Walls behind the store main counters. When playing striking content, these video walls can provide a crucial opportunity to introduce new clothing products that customers may have missed on their way to the till.
These are powered by AllSee signage players that allow for both local and remote, cloud-based management of content and provision of support. This means that the latest video playlists can be easily scheduled and published by AVM to the stores, and can quickly step in to diagnose and troubleshoot with no downtime or physical visits necessary.
