Microsoft Unveils Surface Hub 2S

Microsoft has just announced the latest iteration in their esteemed Surface Hub line, and it’s an impressive leap forward from their original vision, emphasising convenience and scalability to suit a plethora of applications, be it open-plan office, traditional conferencing room, executive boardoom or huddle space.

This new device packs even more performance into a thinner, lighter more versatile design, with a 60 percent thinner display, all the while boasting a sleek 50-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 4K+ Pixel Sense display.

In addition to a new form factor and updated specs and features, the Hub features an APC Charge Mobile Battery that enables portable usage without a connection to a wall outlet – useful when transporting between rooms with ease.

A Meeting Room for the Future

Harnessing the full power of the Microsoft collaborative suite – Teams, Office 365, Whiteboard and the intelligent cloud – Surface Hub 2S intends to unlock the productivity of your team.

The vibrant 4K+ 50-inch multi-touch display offers an inviting canvas to co-create with the best pen and touch experience and the highest resolution compared to any device in its class. Plus, Surface Hub 2S offers 50 percent faster graphics performance than the original Surface Hub.

Bringing Remote Teams Together

Joining a meeting remotely can be painful. It can be hard to stay engaged when you can’t see the people in the room and the content being shared at the same time. Surface Hub 2S helps make meetings more engaging and inclusive of people working remotely.

With built-in Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business integration, users can start meetings instantly with one touch. The large true-to-life screen, enhanced 4K camera, crystal clear speakers and far-field mic arrays help everyone on the team – local or remote – see and engage with the meeting content and each other, making it feel almost like everyone is in the same room together.

“The unique thing about the Hub, in comparison with the rest of the Surface line, is that it’s not a personal computer. It’s really a computer that belongs to a space.”
