Partner Challenges

 

Liberty Blume wanted to find a new and more personal way to speak to its partners and prospects. The team had the ambition, the insight, and the people — but lacked a production environment that would allow them to create podcasts and video content without relying on external studios or specialist technical support.

The challenge was not just about equipment. Liberty Blume needed a space that felt right for the kind of conversations they wanted to have — relaxed, professional, and comfortable enough that non-technical presenters could walk in, focus on the content, and trust the technology to take care of itself. The room also needed to work in their Leeds office, fitting naturally into the broader environment rather than feeling like a bolt-on. The space doubles up as a meeting room for VC, so have an additional meeting room was a huge bonus.

What AVM Did

 

AVM designed and delivered a fully integrated podcast production room at Liberty Blume’s Leeds office — a space where broadcast-quality recording is available to anyone, regardless of their technical background.

At the heart of the solution is a BirdDog Maki Ultra 4K PTZ camera, paired with a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme as the automated AV mixer and recorder. The ATEM handles switching, recording, and output automatically — eliminating the need for a dedicated operator to manage the session. Presenters simply arrive, take a seat, and the system does the rest.

Control is handled through a dedicated iPad running MixEffect, a purpose-built ATEM controller. This gives presenters and hosts a simple, intuitive interface if they want to adjust the setup — without needing to understand the underlying technology. A SY Electronics control keypad provides further one-touch control for the room.

Audio was given equal attention. An Audio-Technica AT897 shotgun microphone feeds through a Behringer MIC2200 preamp, with boom and table-top microphone stand options available to suit different session formats. A Kramer EDID manager and audio embedder ensures clean, consistent signal throughout. A Samsung 1TB portable SSD provides local recording storage, and a 4K USB capture card allows programme video to be ingested directly into a connected laptop for immediate editing or streaming.

The network infrastructure — built on a Netgear AV Line managed switch with PoE+ — ties the system together reliably, while HDMI extension and USB-C cabling ensure a clean, cable-managed finish. The result is a room that feels considered and uncluttered, where the technology supports the atmosphere rather than dominating it.

Outcome

 

Liberty Blume can now produce professional podcast and video content entirely in-house, from their own Leeds office, without any additional specialist technical involvement. The room gives the team a new medium to communicate their expertise — one that is personal, engaging, and well suited to the kind of trust-building conversations that define their work.
